I personally started collecting Motor Racing autographs as a child in the early 1970's, initially in race programmes and on team issued hand outs at race meetings. I also started my first autograph book in the mid 1970's, my collecting continued in this way throughout my school years. Employment provided the funds to source and purchase motor racing photographs from various archives and photographers, so in the late 1980's I started collecting signatures on a much larger scale mainly on photographs and in books.

Throughout the 1990's and into the new century most weekends were either spent collecting signatures at race meetings or shows, also travelling to purchase photographs and literature for what was now a substantial collection. I also attended the main three day F1 test at Silverstone Circuit from 1990 onwards.

I could see a change of location regarding employment looming in early 2003 and when the chance of redundancy came I was happy to take it. I had long harboured the desire to be involved in Motor Racing autographs full time and the transition from collector to dealer was a natural one. Motorsport Originals were founded and in early 2003 the first incarnation of our website was launched.

Since 2003 there has been a minimum of three of us that attend race meetings, tests and events throughout the year collecting signatures, often there are between five and seven of us hence in some cases the quantity of items we are able to offer.

We have also exhibited at various shows and events including The Goodwood Festival of Speed, The Goodwood Revival Meeting, The Autosport International, The Classic Car Show and Race Retro.

This is the third incarnation of our website and we believe it to be by far the best yet, with it our aim is simple... to offer a fine selection of genuine autographed Motorsport items that are available to purchase by the collector Worldwide.

We at Motorsport Originals hope you enjoy viewing out inventory and thank you for visiting our website.

Sincerely,

Kevan West
